Dorney Lake was created in response to a commission to show a rowing image during the Olympics. I was invited to take photographs of the World Championships in August 2011. From the photographs I simplified the images, which were further simplified when I cut the shapes to be printed out of amberlith (a light blocking film), and then exposed the shapes on a light box. This was a complicated print requiring about thirty separate pulls of colourand was the first time I had attempted to use figures in my work.
